lpr-3 encodes one of seven C. elegans proteins related to the lipocalin family of structurally related, low molecular weight, secreted proteins that bind and transport lipophilic molecules and participate in intercellular signaling; large-scale RNAi experiments indicate that lpr-3 activity is required for normal growth rates, early larval development, and coordinated locomotion.
Map position created from combination of previous interpolated map position (based on known location of sequence) and allele information. Therefore this is not a genetic map position based on recombination frequencies or genetic experiments. This was done on advice of the CGC.
