noah-2 encodes a PAN and ZP domain-containing protein that is related to the Drosophila extracellular matrix component NompA (no-mechanoreceptor-potential A); loss of noah-2 function via RNAi indicates that NOAH-2 activity is essential for molting; in addition, NOAH-2 appears to be required for embryonic and larval development, reproduction, coordinated locomotion, and the overall health of the animal.
Map position created from combination of previous interpolated map position (based on known location of sequence) and allele information. Therefore this is not a genetic map position based on recombination frequencies or genetic experiments. This was done on advice of the CGC.
