[Nonet M] unc-10(e102) was phenotypically rescued by both cosmid C34H12 and a 16 kb BamHI/KpnI subclone of this cosmid that contains effectively only the rim-1 gene. The rim-1 gene (rim for Rab Interacting Molecule) is the combined genefinder products T10A3.1 and K03A1.3 (with several mistakes in the prediction by genefinder). Furthermore, unc-10(md330) and unc-10(md1117) both contain deletions of the vast majority of the rim-1 gene. Specifically, md1117 deleted 8.6 kb that extends from approximately 500 bp 5' of the atg to 200 bp 3' of the TAA of the rim-1 gene product.
