Interaction_summary"We next measured the changes in the expression of reporter fusions with promoters derived from a total of 14 NHR-25 candidate target genes before and after depletion of NHR-25 in either the larval (Fig. 6, A-Q) or embryonic stage (Fig. 6R). Class 1 and 2 target genes known to be spatially expressed in epidermis were chosen to ensure that at least one NHR-25 peak is located within their promoter sequences (data not shown). Surprisingly, although most of the tested target genes (7 of 14) demonstrated significantly reduced expression, two of them, nekl-3 (Fig. 6, A-D and Q) and idh-1 (Fig. 6Q), showed significantly elevated expression after depletion of NHR-25, indicating both activating and inhibitory roles of NHR-25 in regulating its target activities."
