Interaction_summaryIn wild-type embryos, AIN-1::GFP was diffusely expressed in the cytoplasm during embryogenesis. In autophagy mutants, including epg-6, atg-3, epg-8 and atg-2, AIN-1::GFP was strongly expressed and accumulated into a large number of aggregates. Levels of endogenous AIN-1 protein, but not ain-1 mRNA, were increased in autophagy mutants. These results indicate that AIN-1 is degraded by autophagy.
