mir-239.2 encodes a microRNA, a small non-protein coding RNA and appears to have a potential ortholog in C. briggsae; miR-239.2 is weakly expressed in the embryo and strongly expressed at all other stages of development in normal worms and in glp-4(bn2) mutant worms; many of the known microRNAs are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of genes.
Is affected by several genes including daf-12; eat-2; and prg-1 based on tiling array and RNA-seq studies. Is affected by graphene oxide; sodium arsenite; and paraquat based on RNA-seq studies.
