mir-73 encodes a microRNA, a small non-protein coding RNA and has a potential ortholog in C. briggsae; mir-73 is strongly expressed at all life stages in normal worms and in glp-4(bn2) mutant adults; many of the known microRNAs are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of genes; the precise function of mir-73 is not known.
Is affected by several genes including daf-12; eat-2; and glp-4 based on tiling array and RNA-seq studies. Is affected by multi-walled carbon nanotube and graphene oxide based on RNA-seq studies.
