WBPicture0000008646DescriptionExpression of heteromeric kinesin osm-3 promoter::GFP construct in the C. elegans nervous system. Heritable lines of worms carrying extrachromosomal arrays of osm-3 promoter::GFP fusion construct were created and imaged by laser scanning confocal microscopy. Genomic sequences upstream from the Osm-3 gene were fused to a GFP reporter, and the constructs were singularly coinjected into hermaphrodite gonads of N2 wild-type worms with the dominant rol-6 marker. Heritable lines of worms displaying the roller phenotype were isolated and analyzed for GFP expression. Shown are the head (left) and tail (right) regions of osm-3 promoter::GFP transgenics (C and D). CB, cell body; D, dendrite; NC, nerve cords and associated commissures. (D) GFP expression in the phasmid chemosensory neurons of the tail; (C) GFP expression in the cell bodies and dendrites of the amphid and inner labial chemosensory neurons in the head.
