Interaction_summary | "Upon exposure to virulent Pseudomonas, wildtype C. elegans rapidly remodel gene expression, with some transcripts rising 200-fold within 4-8 hr (Troemel et al., 2006) (see also Figures 5A-5D). Although infection response genes are upregulated in sams-1 animals fed E. coli, the increase is moderate (2-5 fold, with a few as high as 10-fold) (Figure 1B; Figure S1C). Remarkably, induction of these genes did not occur in sams-1(lof) animals exposed to virulent Pseudomonas (Figures 5A and 5B). This effect did not extend to genes specific to other stresses because the oxidative stress response gene, sod-3, remained unchanged...
