PatternExpression is seen from 3-fold embryos until adulthood. Expression is seen predominantly in several cells around the pharyngeal metacorpus and around the buccal cavity. Presumably they represent sensory neurons and their sensory endings around the buccal cavity. This gene has homology to mammalian serine/threonine protein phosphatases that are expressed in sensory neurons.
