PatternIn the control worms a slight but distinct label was visible at the anterior and posterior part of the intestine. In beta-naphthoflavone-treated worms the total gut emitted a very strong GFP fluorescence. The label was exclusively restricted to the intestine with the strongest fluorescence in the anterior. The fold increase in comparison to the control worms was at least 10 times. GFP was present in all larval stages as well as in adult worms.
RemarkAfter creation of transgenic lines, mixed-staged worms were cultured in the presence or absence of beta-naphthoflavone in the medium. Hence GFP production was followed in vivo depending on the inducer added.
