PatternThe first component of expression consists of much diffuse and nuclear-localised staining which persists from post-comma-stage embryos through to the L2 stage. In young larvae expression is seen in many cells, including hypodermis, intestinal, neuronal and pharyngeal. In older larvae and adults staining is less extensive and is confined to a subset of hypodermal cells of the head and body, the vulC and vulD cells of the vulva, pharyngeal staining, and areas just distal to the uterus (probably the spermathecae).
