Subcellular_localizationPuncta of GFP::PTRN-1 and GFP::DmPatronin (from insect cells) were observed at the leading end of gliding microtubules, indicating binding to minus ends.
TypeReporter_gene
PatternPTRN-1::GFP expressed from its endogenous promoter (Pptrn-1) localized in multiple tissues, including the larval/adult epidermis, neurons, intestine, and pharynx. PTRN-1 is not expressed in the germ line. PTRN-1::GFP was observed in stretches as well as puncta in the body syncytium. PTRN-1::GFP was also observed in puncta within the seam cells, but did not accumulate along the seam cell junctions. In double label images of NOCA-1d::GFP or PTRN- 1::GFP with tagRFP::beta-tubulin many puncta of both proteins were observed coincident with the microtubule bundles in the body epidermis.
