    Treatment: Synchronized wild-type L1 worms were grown in liquid culture with bacteria expressing dsRNA for 2 days. L4 animals were exposed to 0.3 mM cis-diamminedichloroplatinum (cisplatin) (Platosin dissolved in 0.9% NaCl, Pharmachemie BV) in M9 for 3 hr. Control animals were mock-treated with 0.9% NaCl in M9. After treatment, the animals were transferred to plates with the original RNAi food. Twenty-four hours later four sets of three worms were transferred to a second plate to allow egg laying. The parents were removed after 18 hr. Dead eggs and offspring were counted 24 hr thereafter.
