WBPicture0000013327DescriptionFigure 2. PFN-1 Is Required for the Cortical Localization of Actin and Myosin (A) Actin and NMY-2 localize around the cortex of wild-type embryos. The levels of both proteins are reduced at the cortex of pfn- 1(RNAi) embryos. (B) PFN-1 is detectable in the cytoplasm and at the cortex of wild-type embryonic cells. Profilin is present at similar levels in the cleavage furrows of dividing cells and elsewhere at the cortex. Cortical and cytoplasmic staining are both reduced in pfn-1(RNAi) embryos. Nonspecific centrosomal staining is sometimes observed in both wild-type and pfn- 1(RNAi) embryos.
