WBPicture0000011690DescriptionFig. 5. The mRNA expression of wee-1.1 correlates with the phase of the cell cycle. RNA in situ hybridization was carried out with wild-type embryos. (A) A 16-cell embryo hybridized with the wee-1.1 probe. The black arrowheads mark the six nuclei that hybridized to the wee-1.1 probe. (B) The same embryo counter-stained with DAPI to show the chromatin. Nuclei with condensed chromatin in prophase and metaphase hybridized to the probe and are marked with white arrowheads, whereas nuclei in anaphase (lower left) or interphase did not hybridize.
