WBPicture0000011554DescriptionFig.10. Expression of PKC1B in situ. C elegans were processed for immunofluorescence as described under 'Experimental Procedures'. Specimens were analyzed by confocal microscopy (see 'Experimental Procedures'). Panel A (right) shows the head region. Cell bodies and processes of neurons of the nerve ring (NR), anterior (AG), dorsal, lateral, ventral (DLV)and retrovesicular (R) ganglia, amphid (A) and labial (LA) sensory bundles exhibit intense fluorescence due to PKC1B.IgG complexes. Neuronal processes in ventral nerve cord (V), touch cell interneurons (B,S), and neurons of the posterior lateral ( P ) ganglion are evident in panel A (left) and panel B. Cell bodies and processes of the tail ganglia, the phasmid neurons, and dendrites of touch receptor neurons are also enriched in PKC1B(D, E, F, panelA (left)). B and S are interneurons designated BDUL/R and SDQL/R, respectively. D indicates the dorsorectal ganglion; E, the lumbar gan- glion; and F, the preanal ganglion.
