WBPicture0000010174Description(B-G) Whole mount in situ hybridisation analysis of set-1 expression during development. Data kindly provided by Yuji Kohara (http://nematode.lab.nig.ac.jp/) for the yk179f12 cDNA. In situ hybridisations of embryos and larvae were carried out as described (Mochii et al., 1999); those for adult worms used an unpublished protocol described at http://helix.genes.nig.ac.jp/db/. A very high and ubiquitous expression at the early stages of development (B-D) decreases by the 1 1/2-fold stage (E) and becomes further restricted later during larval development. (F) At the L3-L4 stages, strong expression is seen at the site of the presumptive vulva (arrowhead), and weak expression can be observed in the developing gonad (arrow). (G) In young adults expression is also seen in the gonad (arrow).
