The developing head is to the left, and the tail is to the right. Although all cells express a low level of INA-1, there is increased staining in the region of the developing pharynx (arrowheads).(B) Lateral view of a late stage embryo. The pharynx still stains brightly (arrowheads). The intestinal staining (arrows) is not due to INA-1 protein because it persists in ina-1(gm86) molecular null mutants ([C], arrows).
