WBPicture0000008175DescriptionFigure 8. Ultrastructural localization of the native CPL-1 protein in C. elegans at different stages of development. Antibodies raised against the mature region of the C. elegans enzyme were used to study the subcellular localization of CPL-1 as described under Experimental Procedures. A, the protein is localized in the cuticles (cu) of larvae (A and B) and adult stages (C). Note that when the larvae molt the protein is present in both, the old and new cuticles (B,arrowheads). D, the protein is also localized on the surface (arrowheads) of the late-stage embryos (emb) (bar, 500 nm).
