(A) Like many maternal RNAs, nos-1 mRNAs (dark color) are initially present throughout early embryos and are maintained in later stages only in the germline. nos-1 is expressed in the PGCs Z2 and Z3 starting in the comma stage (550-cell). Embryos are oriented with anterior to the left.
