pri-2 encodes a homolog of the DNA polymerase alpha-primase subunit C that is required in embryos for the normal timing of embryonic cell divisions (much as DIV-1 is) and for normal mitosis in the germline.
Predicted to enable 4 iron, 4 sulfur cluster binding activity; DNA binding activity; and metal ion binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of nematode male tail tip morphogenesis. Predicted to be part of alpha DNA polymerase:primase complex. Is an ortholog of human PRIM2 (DNA primase subunit 2).
Map position created from combination of previous interpolated map position (based on known location of sequence) and allele information. Therefore this is not a genetic map position based on recombination frequencies or genetic experiments. This was done on advice of the CGC.
