dhs-5 encodes a possible steroid dehydrogenase; DHS-5 generally resembles short chain-type alcohol/other dehydrogenases, but has two predicted N-terminal transmembrane sequences, and its closest relatives in vertebrates are known or putative steroid dehydrogenases such as hydroxysteroid (17-beta) dehydrogenase 12 from mouse (also known as KIK-I or DHBK_MOUSE).
Map position created from combination of previous interpolated map position (based on known location of sequence) and allele information. Therefore this is not a genetic map position based on recombination frequencies or genetic experiments. This was done on advice of the CGC.
