WBAntibody00000717 | Summary | Polyclonal rabbit peptide antibody. Polyclonal rabbit antibodies were raised against synthetic peptides corresponding to the NH2 termini of AAT-1. The following peptide was synthesized, with a cysteine at one end to facilitate coupling to a carrier protein while preserving the natural free terminus: AAT-1, NH2-TAEKEPLKSREGDEAPQNETC-COOH (amino acids 2 to 21). Peptides were coupled separately to bovine serum albumin or ovalbumin using m-maleimidobenzoyl-N-hydroxy-succinimide ester. Rabbits were immunized subcutaneously with 1 mg of bovine serum albumin-coupled peptide in complete Freund's adjuvant and boosted at least twice at 3-week intervals with 100 g of the uncoupled peptide in incomplete Freund's adjuvant. | ||
