PatternFollowing cadmium exposure, cdr-1 promoter activity is evident exclusively in the intestinal cells of C. elegans. Transcription was observed in all post-embryonic stages of development, and not in developing embryos. In the absence of cadmium, reporter transgene activity was not observed.
