PatternGFP signals were observed throughout nervous system and muscles, including the nerve ring and ventral nerve cord, and in the intestine. In order to confirm the nervous system expression of BuGZ-1, we co-injected the constructs of bugz-1p::gfp and rab-3p::mCherry. BUGZ-1 is co-localized well with RAB-3 in most neurons in the nerve ring and the tail. Notably, BUGZ-1 is localized to the nuclei of these cells, consistent with the subcellular location of mammalian BuGZ.
