TypeReporter_gene
PatternThe reporter gene was expressed in all tissues except the germline, where no fluorescence could be detected. Fluorescence could easily be scored in all gut, epidermal and muscle cells, including the vulval muscles and the pharynx, as well as in the cells of the excretory system, in the somatic gonad and in many neurons. The gene was expressed in a very similar manner at all developmental stages, including embryos and dauer larvae. Although no transgene expression could be seen in the germline, the very low brood size of the mutants is rescued to the wild-type level by the transgene.
