Subcellular_localizationThe GFP signal in pSAM3 transformants is weak. Expression of the pSAM3 rescuing construct indicates that RPM-1 is most abundant in axons of the nerve ring neuropil. Clearly, RPM-1 is not confined to the nucleus.
TypeReporter_gene
PatternWild-type animals transformed with this construct show GFP fluorescence in most, if not all, neurons. Fluorescence first appears in comma stage embryos and persists through adulthood. In addition to neurons, expression was seen in the pharynx, in coelomocytes, and in the distal tip cell. rpm-1 is not to be expressed in body wall muscle, hypodermis, or intestine.
