Subcellular_localizationIn cholinergic neurons, SUP-1 was enriched in synaptic regions, although fluorescence was also observed in processes and cell bodies.SUP-1 fusion protein expressed in the cholinergic motor neurons of the ventral nerve cord cell bodies appeared to be restricted to the plasma membrane. In the body wall muscles, SUP- 1::YFP also appeared to be localized to the plasma membrane.
TypeReporter_gene
Patternsup-1 transcriptional fusion is expressed in a subset of C. elegans neurons and muscles. Most or all of the SUP-1-positive neurons are cholinergic, including cholinergic motor neurons in the ventral nerve cord, as well as a subset of cholinergic head neurons. Expression was also noted in the anterior sublateral (SAB) neurons, and at least a subset of the body sublateral neurons. Non-neuronal expression of sup-1 appeared to be limited to the body wall muscles.SUP-1::YFP translational fusion was expressed in cholinergic neurons and body wall muscles. Fluorescence was first observable in embryos, and persisted throughout development.
