WBPicture0000014042DescriptionFigure S1. mak-2 encodes a C. elegans MAPKAP kinase expressed in neurons and localized to synapses independent of its NLS and NES(A) The rpm-1 suppressor ju637 was mapped to the left arm of chromosome IV and linked to SNP Y55F3BR[7]. tm2927 and ok2394 are deletion alleles of mak2.(B) mak-2 promoter (3,448 bp) driven GFP shows broad expression in the nervous system, muscle and other tissues. (C) mak-2 expression constructs. (D) Deleting the NES or NLS of MAK-2 affects its nuclear localization but not its synaptic localization in PLM touch neurons. (E) Phosphomimetic MAK-2(EE) and nonphosphorylatable MAK-2(AA) are localized to motor neuron synapses (left panels) and the cell body (right panels). Note that expression of MAK-2(EE) causes abnormal puncta of SNB-1::GFP. Scale bars, 10 um.
