Animals are oriented anterior to the left and dorsal up. (E) Two-cell stage embryos. lir-1 transcripts were detected in both cells. (F) 50-cell stage embryos. lir-1 transcripts were detected in all cells. (G) 350-cell stage embryos. lir-1 transcripts were detected posteriorly and dorsally in hypodermal cells. (H). Comma-stage embryos. lir-1 continues to show similar expression patterns in support cells and in minor hypodermal cells of the head (arrow), hypodermal cells of the excretory system (triangle), as well as the tail and anus (open arrow).
