PatternWe observed that NGN-1 is expressed during embryogenesis in the SMDD/AIY mother cell before its terminal division as well as in its sister cell, the SIAD/SIBV mother cell (cells identified by co-labelling with hlh-16p::mcherry, stIs10546). Following the terminal division, NGN-1 is detected in both the early postmitotic AIY neuron and early postmitotic SMDD neuron. NGN-1 subsequently disappears from the AIY neuron, being undetectable in AIY at larval stages.
