Legacy_informationjd17 : [Oommen KS] The mutant displays a ventral asymmetry during backward locomotion in the L1 stage, however, after the L1-L2 molt the mutant adopts a dorsal asymmetry during backward locomotion. Forward locomotion does not appear to be affected. DD mns do not stain for GABA and L1 stage ventral nerve cord analyses show decreased numbers and abnormal arrangements of motorneuron cell bodies indicative of a specific defect in the DD mns.
[Oommen KS] In addition, analysis of gfp expression (specific for the DD mns) in the mutant bakground also substantiate that the DD mns are not entirely present along the developing ventral nerve cord.
Complementation_dataDeficiencies nDf15, sDf130, sDf121, nDf17, and nDf40 were tested for complementation. Only sDf130 and sDf121 failed to complement this new mutation (referred to as jd19). The suspected interval for this new locus is between -2.70 to -1.68 mu on chromosome III. Rescuing clones are currently being investigated.
