In a recent study by McElwee and coworkers (McElweeet al.,2003), the authors described an insulin-like peptide (
ins-7/zc334.2) which, when inhibited by RNAi, resulted in increased lifespan of the long-lived C. elegans mutant
daf-2. To preventconfusion, we would like to point out that this paper usedan older naming convention for the insulin-like peptides in C.elegans, and that
zc334.2 now corresponds to
ins-30 (Pierceet al., 2001).
