Staining was seen around the cortex of each blastomere in both genetic backgrounds at all temperatures tested. In wild-type embryos at 25C, centrosomal staining was seen in 74% of cells in mitosis (n=58). In mutant embryos from hermaphrodites reared at 16C, the centrosomal association did not appear significantly affected (69%; n=13). However, in mutant embryos from animals reared at 20C or 25C, centrosomal staining was significantly reduced to 28% (n=40) and 25% (n=36), respectively. These results suggest that functional G protein GPA-16 may be required for the association of G protein with centrosomes in early embryos.

"Knockdown of these genes [fars-1, hars-1, lars-1, nars-1, rrt-1, sars-1] also significantly (P < 0.01) increased mRNA levels for gpdh-1 ~ 1.7- to nearly 40-fold (Fig. 1, C and D)."
