In
nid-1 mutants, PTP-3 levels appeared reduced, and the protein was abnormally distributed into smaller and larger puncta with gaps in the staining pattern. However, 35.1% of the remaining PTP-3 was colocalized with UNC-10 (n = 15). This suggests that NID-1 is required to maintain PTP-3 levels but does not seem to be necessary for the association of PTP-3 with UNC-10.
