unc-86(n848) animals show mild IL2 and URA differentiation defects, but in combination with the cfi-1(ky651) mutant allele there are strong synergistic, i.e. non-additive, defects in IL2 and URA differentiation
In wild type, osm-9 is expressed more broadly in ciliated sensory neurons, including the male-specific PKD neurons and core IL2, amphids, and phasmids . In daf-19(n4132), osm-9 is not expressed in core IL2, male-specific CEM neurons, an ~50% of HOB and RnB neurons. In those cells having osm-9 expression, the expression level is reduced.

In klp- 6(my8) mutants, CIL-7::GFP accumulated at ciliary bases of CEM and IL2 sensory neurons, which is consistent with CIL-7 being EV cargo and klp-6 mutants being defective in EV release.

Under these sensitised conditions, 48.34.5% of unc-130(oy10);daf-2(e1370) larvae misexpressed GFP in IL2 neurons during reproductive development (n=200), compared with only 7.12.3% in daf-2(e1370) mutants (n=150).
