Egfr [Search on AGR]
Drosophila melanogaster Epidermal growth factor receptor (Egfr) encodes the transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor for signaling ligands (encoded by grk, spi, vn, and Krn) in the TGFalpha family, which utilises the intracellular MAP kinase pathway. The product of Egfr contributes to growth regulation, cell survival and developmental patterning.
vn [Search on AGR]
Drosophila melanogaster vein (vn) encodes a secreted neuregulin-like EGFR ligand. It has weaker intrinsic activity, and a lower receptor affinity, than the TGFalpha-like ligand encoded by spi. It has roles in growth and patterning of tissues including muscle, midgut, ovary, trachea, glia, eye, leg, and wing.
