To identify the expression sites of the ABC transporter PGP-2, five independent reporter gene expressing strains carrying a
pgp-2::GFP fusion construct were generated and analysed. In all cases, PGP-2-GFP was found in the AWA sensory neuron pair. This conclusion was validated by analysing the morphology of the cilia. The PGP-2 expressing neurons showed the characteristic branched cilium morphology typical of the AWA neurons.
