Consistent with previous findings (Kim and Li, 2004), we found that flp-20 is expressed in the TRNs (ALM, AVM, PLM, PVM), along with a few other neurons (ASE, LUA, and PVC).
Ce-cdd-2 first appeared in the 8 h sample (late L1), and then was more or less constitutively expressed up to the 34 h sample (young adult), after which expression increased in the 3640 h samples.
Expressed in all stages from eggs (time point 0) to 40 h during worm development. CeRh1 expression was rapidly up-regulated 2 h after fertilization, and this high-level expression was maintained throughout development until the 40-h time point.
Although the cpz-1 transcript is present throughout development, it is least expressed in embryos and during L1 to L2 growth. The level of the cpz-1 transcript increased significantly prior to the L2/L3 molt at 16 h and decreased after the L2/L3 molt (~20 h), and then periodically increased before the L3/L4 molt (~24 h) and the L4/adult molt (~34 h). In addition, a significant increase in its level occurred during the period when the early part of embryogenesis takes place (~40 h after L1). During adulthood there is a 23-h period when the fertilized eggs go through the process of embryogenesis.
Using semi-quantitative RT-PCR, we show that C54G7.3 is somatically expressed. C54G7.3 is first detected at 24 h following hatching, when grown at 25 C. C54G7.3 continued to be expressed at 48 h and 72 h. Adults first appeared at the 72 h time point and C54G7.3 showed clear expression despite the significant attenuation of the germline.C54G7.3 and chs-2 expression declined following onset of adulthood (72 h). C54G7.3 was expressed in the absence of a germline and the expression declined once all the worms reached adulthood. Only one of the two predicted transcripts of C54G7.3 includes sequence coding for the PDA domain.
