Transgenic animals carrying construct
stn-1:gfp I showed a robust fluorescence in neurons and muscles. No expression was observed outside of these tissues. Expression of
stn-1 was detected as early as 2-fold embryos. Among the muscles, signal was particularly strong in the body-wall muscles, the head muscles, and the vulva muscles. Neuronal expression was seen in most neurons, although this point has not been investigated in detail. Another transgene (
stn-1:gfp II), carrying a longer piece of F30A10.8 upstream sequences and the whole F30A10.8a open reading frame, gave similar results.
