In adults, the major site of
cul-2 mRNA expression is the germ line.
cul-2 mRNA is provided to embryos as maternal product, and during embryogenesis the levels of
cul-2 mRNA decrease. During larval development,
cul-2 mRNA is found in proliferating tissues, with the highest level in the intestine, which endoreplicates at each larval molt, as well as in a few postmitotic neurons in the nerve ring.
